Human performance project
what is 7x?
The Human Performance Project was created by Navy SEAL Ryan Parrot. After loosing his sniper partner to suicide, he set out on a mission to help prevent the 22 veterans that commit suicide on a daily basis. Along with helping first responders and anyone who deals with trauma on a daily basis in their work environment.
Ryan created the 7x Deployment, which consists of 62 individuals who have a special talent and who are the best in their field. Out of those 62, there was 10 athletes who completed, 7 marathons, 7 skydives, 7 swims, on 7 continents in 7 days (168 hours).
Not only did this trip spread awareness for mental health, the mission for 7x was to simulate what first responders and veterans go through on a daily basis while on the job. Stress, sleep deprivation and exhaustion were some of the many emotions we endured.
All of this will be studied by specialists at the Center for Brain Health in Dallas, to put together a how to guide for people to follow when they are dealing with thoughts of suicide or depression from PTS (Post Traumatic Stress) or any other issues that come to light from a high stress and traumatic work life.
How are we involved?
In collaboration with Anchor Productions, both teams jumped running social medias, and camera operations. Ragtown played the roll of mainly filming the skydive jumps. This meant we chased jumpers off cliffs, out helicopters and planes. While the Anchor team followed the marathon runs.
